What you won’t find in it
Every job is one record that moves along. You never type the same thing twice.
Pick the customer, say what the job is, add the price. Bigger job? Break it into lines from your price list, with tax only where it belongs.
Your customer gets a text with a link. They tick any add-ons they want, then approve and pay the deposit with Apple Pay in one tap. No app, no account.
Dates go on your calendar. Snap before and after photos. When they ask for one more thing, add it as a change and it lands on the final invoice.
One tap turns the job into an invoice, deposit already subtracted. They pay from the text with Apple Pay, a card or their bank, or by Zelle, Venmo or check. Late? Reminders go out on their own.
Your customer gets a text with a link. They tap it, see what they owe, and pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay. No app, no account, no password.
Big job? They can pay from their bank instead, where your processing fee tops out at $5. On a $5,000 deck, that’s $5 instead of about $145 by card.
Open the app and you know where your money is: what’s out for bid, what you’re owed, what’s late, and what you’ve made this year. Most small shops can’t answer those without a shoebox and an afternoon.
Save what you charge once: your labor rate, materials by the square foot, flat-price jobs, trip fees. Tap one into a bid and the price, the unit and the tax setting come with it. Anything new you bid gets saved for next time.
Add what each item costs you, and every bid shows your profit before you send it. Only you see that line.
Small job? One line and a price. Big job? The same screen grows into line items. No mode to pick.
Plain Jobs does the paperwork and hands the money to what you already use. Every connection is optional.
Apple Pay, card and bank payments run through your own Square or Stripe account, so money lands where it always does. We never hold it and never take a cut.
Customers, invoices and payments flow one way into QuickBooks Online. At tax time, export everything to a spreadsheet your accountant can use.
Customers come from Contacts and job dates go on your calendar. Send texts from your own phone, or turn on business texting and bids, receipts and reminders go out on their own from a business number. Replies come to your cell.
The big field-service apps are built for crews with a dispatcher. If it’s just you, you’re paying for things you’ll never open.
